MTRIPS is responsible for:

• Delivering improvements to the network which meet today's needs and future challenges
• Organising the design and build of major road schemes in Scotland
• Designing, procuring and overseeing enhancements to current trunk roads and the construction of new ones
• Providing professional resources such as computing and procurement advice to other divisions
• Contributing to Transport Scotland's commitment to be a centre of excellence
•  Supporting Project Teams to ensure relevant legislation and procedures are followed
