Work on multi-million pound M74 Completion project is moving forward

Work on the multi-million pound M74 Completion project is moving forward as preparation for new viaducts gets underway on Monday 12 January.

The work involves re-aligning the existing off-ramp to tie-in with the new eastbound M8 to M74 Viaduct and approach.

In order to allow these works to go ahead, it is necessary to close the M8 Junction 21 (Paisley Road) eastbound off-ramp between 12 January and 1 February 2009. Traffic will be diverted via Seaward  Street.

Graham Porteous, Project Director said:

"These works are essential preparations for the new viaduct being constructed in this area of the M8.

"We ask drivers to allow extra time for their journeys and plan their trip in advance by visiting www.trafficscotland.org."

Further information is also available on the M74 Completion helpline free phone number - 0800 328 1697.
