MORE than 4,000 people have visited the Forth Replacement Crossing exhibition which took place at 20 locations in Fife, Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth and West Lothian over the last fortnight.
Interested members of the public took the opportunity to visit the final exhibitions in Uphall and Dunfermline on Friday (31 August).
Less than one week now remains for comments to be submitted to Transport Scotland regarding the proposals for the new crossing.
Forth Replacement Crossing project director David Anderson said,
"We have been extremely encouraged by the turnout at the exhibitions and the time that people have taken to consider the various aspects of the project and weigh up the crossing options. Feedback on the exhibitions has been very positive.
"We now hope that people will take the opportunity in this final week of the consultation to send us their views, allowing Ministers to consider this information alongside the technical reports and reach a decision on the crossing in the Autumn."
The closing date for providing comments to Transport Scotland is Friday 7 September. Feedback can be provided in writing to Forth Replacement Crossing, 6th Floor, Buchanan House, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow, G4 0HF or via the project website www.forthreplacementcrossing.info
Information packs about the crossing will continue to be available in libraries throughout Edinburgh, Fife and West Lothian during next week to assist members of the public who have been unable to attend an exhibition or who do not have internet access.
