The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning including rain, sleet and snow in Scotland for the coming weekend.
Stewart Leggett, Transport Scotland’s Net work Manager said: "We have robust winter service plans in place, but as winter weather can cause disruption on our roads, we would remind people to take extra care when there is a risk of icy conditions. We are in regular contact with the Met Office, police, operating companies, the rail industry and other key responders and stand ready to activate the Multi Agency Response Team should conditions merit a national co-ordinated response.”
The Traffic Scotland Control Centre continues to monitor the travel situation very closely and the website, Variable Message Signs and internet radio will be used to provide up to date information as the situation develops. Latest weather information can also be found at the Met Office website.
