Construction
One of the key aspects of the project during the summer has been to draw up plans for the construction of the project, identify suitable construction compound locations and start work on a Code of Construction Practice.
The bulk of construction activity will take place from barges in the Firth of Forth.
In the Parliamentary Bill Transport Scotland will seek provision for three construction compounds which are required to build the scheme.
- Echline in South Queensferry – Option 1 and 2
- Near Kirkliston on the north-west side of M9 Junction 1A
Site compounds will be securely fenced off with well maintained fencing. Site security measures may include security cameras if required. Lighting at the compound will be designed and directed to reduce visual intrusion and light spillage for nearby properties.
A draft Code of Construction Practice covering all compounds and all construction activities is currently being prepared in consultation with local stakeholders and will be submitted in support of the Parliamentary Bill.
