To the northern end of the eastern yards, a possible machine room was found 3 metres below the excavation. This room appears to be earlier than the main central room, and therefore a part of the early phase of the pottery.

Further machine stripping in the northern area has revealed a chimney, which appears on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map. This has been truncated by later phases of the pottery buildings.
