A9 Ballinluig Junction Improvements Project

Project Summary:
The scheme consists of the provision of new slip roads on the west side of the A9 for Northbound travellers. The scheme was officially opened on 26 May 2008.

Construction complete

What's involved?
Two bridges were built over the railway to provide access to a new roundabout providing safe access to all routes.

Project benefits
This project improves road safety at an accident black spot as it removes the need for vehicles to cross the A9 to access the village. Southbound travellers will continue to enter the junction as before.

These details are available from the programme document

Impact on travel
Journeys along the A9 through the Ballinluig area will be safer and quicker due to the increase to the speed limit.

Traffic management
