Capital has been allocated based on levels of transport poverty as defined in Sutrans report on transport poverty in Scotland 2016. The methodology combines:

  • car availability
  • income deprivation
  • access to services by measure of rurality

The first of these comes from the population census, the second two come from a variety of sources and are combined as part of the SIMD calculations. Allocations have been calculated in line with this methodology using updated data.
