The Service Quality Incentive Regime is a customer focused regime which measures First ScotRail performance in relation to quality of services and facilities at stations and on trains.
Transport Scotland monitor First ScotRail’s performance using this regime. It is one of the toughest performance regimes in the UK, designed to drive forward quality improvements in rail services and deliver a high level of customer service for rail passengers.
Under the current franchise, the Service Quality Incentive Regime was expanded in phases from 184 stations, at the start, to cover all 340 First ScotRail stations and trains on all First ScotRail routes from August 2006 . This ensures a focus on delivering a consistently high level of customer service throughout Scotland.
Transport Scotland monitor 20 areas of station quality and 16 areas of train quality. Research commissioned in Summer 2006 identified the areas of station and train quality that passengers wished to see reported. The results for these areas are shown on the station results, train results, and your line of route pages.
