Publication Summary:
In 2014, both the current contract for rail passenger services (ScotRail) and the funding arrangements for Network Rail in Scotland are due to come to an end and new arrangements have to be in place. Between November 2011 and February 2012, we held a consultation which asked rail users and stakeholders to play a part in shaping Scotland's rail services in future. The Minister for Housing and Transport set out how we intend to contract for, and fund, rail services from 2014 to Parliament on 21 June 2012.
