This consultation aims to determine the key challenges and opportunities that exist to further develop rail as a mode of transport for freight. Guidance on how to respond and a list of questions to assist you are included at Annex A however, comments are invited on any matter within the scope of this consultation. This consultation is now closed.

Transport Scotland has contributed to this consultation, a collaboration among a range of public sector bodies such as the Scottish Enviroment Protection Agency and Scottish Water and private sector organisations. This provides guidance to those involved in the road design process aimed at improving drainage of surface water. The closing date for comment is 16 October 2009.
