Transport Scotland ensures that trunk roads are designed with the most up-to-date standards to ensure they are safe for all users.

This includes:

• Adhering to the the design standards in the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
• Ensuring that trunk roads are safe and accessible to all users

• Introducing a new standard for road surfacing to ensure our roads are safe
