This award-winning document is mandatory to all involved with the design or implementation of landscape interventions within the trunk road corridor.

The policy was first published in 1998 and whilst the core guidance remains perfectly applicable over 10 years later, the document is in need of a refresh to take account of broader policy and legislative developments during the intervening period. This process is currently underway and the resulting refreshed policy document will eventually be published on the Transport Scotland website.

Practitioners, designers and managers should continue to use the existing guidance until the newly updated policy is completed.
