Gourock - Dunoon ferry
A subsidised passenger ferry service between Gourock town centre and Dunoon town centre is currently operated by Argyll Ferries Ltd on behalf of Scottish Ministers.

On 7 June 2011, following a competitive tendering process, AFL was awarded a 6-year contract to operate this ferry service. The contract runs from 2011 until 2017. A copy of the contract and variations is available.
A feasibility study of a future passenger and vehicle service with the vehicle service portion being non-subsidised was launched in November 2012. The study will be carried out by MVA Consultancy and The Maritime Group. See the terms of reference for the study, which were drawn up by the Gourock Dunoon Ferry Services Steering Group and the inception report which was drawn up by the consultants and approved by the Steering Group. The Steering Group was initiated by Alex Neil when he was Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment and brings together the Scottish Government, Argyll and Bute Council, Inverclyde Council and the Dunoon Gourock Ferry Action Group.
