A9 Glen Garry to Dalwhinnie

This 9.5km stretch between Glen Garry and Dalwhinnie is being upgraded to dual carriageway as part of a wider programme to improve the A9 between Perth and Inverness. The preferred route has been identified and is being taken forward to the next phase of the design work by our consultants, CH2MHill / Fairhurst Joint Venture. The estimated total scheme cost for preparation, procurement and construction of the project is £247m at April 2025 prices, which includes £19m spent up to end March 2025. The Glen Garry to Dalwhinnie and Dalwhinnie to Crubenmore projects will be combined for procurement and construction as a single contract, Glen Garry to Crubenmore.
